According to statistics of the China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce\u00a0(CCCM<\/a>), sales of fuel motorcycles in China decreased month-on-month and increased year-on-year in December. Large-displacement leisure motorcycles increased significantly year-on-year, while electric motorcycles increased month-on-month and decreased year-on-year. Throughout the year, fuel motorcycles had a slightly increase in sales, Chinese market remained basically stable, foreign trade exports increased significantly, the product structure was optimized, and the export of large-displacement leisure motorcycles increased significantly. In 2023, the motorcycle industry maintained a stable and positive development trend.<\/p>\n

P<\/b><\/strong>roduction\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>&<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>S<\/b><\/strong>ales<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

In December, fuel motorcycle production and sales were 1.1631\u00a0million and 1.1247\u00a0million units, a month-on-month increase of 0.21%\u00a0and decrease of 2.3%, and a year-on-year increase of 3.39%\u00a0in production\u00a0and a year-on-year increase of 0.52% in sales. Electric motorcycle production and sales were 281,100 and 267,400 units, output increased by 5.56%and 8.93%\u00a0month-on-month, and decreased by\u00a044.83%\u00a0and 49%\u00a0year-on-year. The entire industry produced and sold a total of 1.4443\u00a0million and 1.3921\u00a0million motorcycles respectively in December,a month-on-month increase of 1.21% in production and a month-on-month\u00a0decrease of 0.32%\u00a0in sales, and a year-on-year decrease of 11.64%\u00a0in production and 15.28%\u00a0in sales. The production and sales of large-displacement recreational motorcycles (displacement >250CC) produced and sold 37,000 and 35,700 units, a month-on-month decrease of 2.37%\u00a0in production and a month-on-month decrease of 2.27%\u00a0in sales, and a year-on-year increase of 34.06%\u00a0in production and 37.31%\u00a0in sales.<\/p>\n

From January to November, fuel motorcycle production and sales\u00a0were 14.1513\u00a0million and 14.1801 million units, a year-on-year increase of\u00a03.43%\u00a0and 2.85%. Electric motorcycle production and sales were\u00a05.265\u00a0million and 4.8105\u00a0million units, a year-on-year decrease\u00a0of 30.82%\u00a0and 36.97%. From January to December, the entire industry produced and sold a total\u00a0of 19.4163\u00a0million and 18.9907 million motorcycles, down 8.81%\u00a0and 11.34%\u00a0year-on-year. Among them, the production and sales of two-wheeled motorcycles were 17.0227\u00a0million and 16.6001 million, down 10.46%\u00a0and 13.23%\u00a0year-on-year. The production and sales of large-displacement recreational motorcycles (displacement >250CC)\u00a0were 511,800 and 525,400, down 7.13%\u00a0and 5.06%\u00a0year-on-year,\u00a0respectively.\u00a0The production and sales of three-wheeled motorcycles were 2.3936\u00a0million and 2.3905\u00a0million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.93%\u00a0and 4.46%.<\/p>\n

From January to December, the top 10\u00a0fuel motorcycle sales companies\u00a0(groups) were Dachangjiang (1.8774\u00a0million units), Loncin (1.3352\u00a0units), Zongshen (855,400\u00a0units), Sundiro-Honda (761,300 units), Dayang (639,300 units), Wuyang-Honda (602,600 units), Tayo (578,800\u00a0units), Yinxiang (525,400 units), Dayun (490,300 units), and Qingqi Suzuki (402,300 units).<\/p>\n

From January to November, the top 10 electric motorcycle sales companies\u00a0(groups) were Yadea (2.2186\u00a0million units), Luyuan (574,200 units), Tailg (554,200 units), Sunra (417,300 units), Zongshen (367,500 units), Huaihai (183,700 units), Bus New Energy (132,200 units), Jinyi (92,400 units), Lovol (61,700 units), and Loncin (48,500 units).<\/p>\n

Export Situation<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

In December, China\u2019s motorcycle exports dropped slightly month-on-month but increased significantly year-on-year. Throughout the year, China\u2019s motorcycle foreign trade exports operated steadily, with the average monthly export volume around 700,000 units and the cumulative export volume exceeding 8.3 million units, a significant year-on-year increase.<\/p>\n

In December, 738,000 motorcycles were exported, a month-on-month increase of 0.68%\u00a0and a year-on-year increase of 15.53%; the export value was US$468\u00a0million, a month-on-month increase of 1.89%\u00a0and a year-on-year increase of 13.12%. Among them, 688,100 two-wheeled motorcycles were exported, a decrease of 1.81%\u00a0month-on-month and an increase 12.25%\u00a0year-on-year; 49,900 three-wheeled motorcycles were exported, an increase of 18.07%\u00a0month-on-month\u00a0and 93.61%\u00a0year-on-year.<\/p>\n

From January to December, the total export volume of motorcycle manufacturers was US$6.881\u00a0billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.05%. The export volume of complete vehicles was 8.3168\u00a0million units, a year-on-year increase of 8.79%, and the export value was US$5.465\u00a0billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.19%. Motorcycle engine exports were 942,700 units, a year-on-year increase of 7.08%, and the export value was US$202\u00a0million, a year-on-year increase of 0.07%. The export volume of ATVs was 368,300 units, a year-on-year decrease of 8.26%, and the export value was US$871\u00a0million, a year-on-year decrease of 12.15%. The export value of motorcycle parts was US$343\u00a0million, a year-on-year increase of 7.29%.<\/p>\n

From January to December, the top 10 motorcycle exporting companies were: Loncin, Dachangjiang, Tayo, Zongshen, Yinxiang, Sundiro-Honda,\u00a0Haojin, Lifan,\u00a0Dayun, and Bashan. The above 10 companies exported a total of 4.93\u00a0million units, accounting for 59.28% of total motorcycle exports.<\/p>\n
