It conforms to China\u2019s basic national conditions and has great development potential. Since the first light electric vehicle was introduced in 1995, e-bikes have become an important means of transportation for Chinese residents.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s electric bicycle industry, from scratch to the scale of 100 billion, stands for a tremendous development\u00a0over the past more\u00a0than 20 years. China\u00a0is the world\u2019s largest producer, consumer and exporter of electric bicycles. Currently, Tianjin, Jiangsu and Zhejiang are the major e-bike industrial clusters in China.<\/p>\n<p>According to the regional E-bike production data disclosed by E-TIMIES, Jiangsu is the largest producer of e-bikes in China, accounting for about 20%\u00a0of the country\u2019s e-bike production. The number of electric bikes<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>in use<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0in China is soaring<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the steady development of China\u2019s e-bike industry, the number of e-bikes\u00a0registered and being in use has been rising steadily. According to the data released by ZOL, users from 30 to 39 years old have become the absolute main group, accounting for 47%, followed by users of 40 to 49 years old. China\u2019s\u00a0<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>e-bike<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>industry\u00a0<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>follows a<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0cluster, scale, the\u00a0<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>technology-driven<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0development<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0trend<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Driven by high-quality enterprises, China\u2019s e-bike\u00a0industry gradually matures. It is developing towards cluster,\u00a0scale and technology\u00a0oriented. With improved quality and more diversified products, the leading and brand enterprises will have a broader market space. The national output of e-bikes increased from 290,000 units in 2000 to 36.95 million units in 2013, with an annual compound growth rate of 34.21%. During this period, the industry activity reached the highest level\u00a0and the technical level of the industry was greatly improved.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00a0the industry\u00a0matures, it\u00a0has gradually entered the stage of integrated development, and the industrial capacity increased in the high-speed development stage also needs to be gradually digested. From 2014 to 2017, the output of the e-bike\u00a0industry declined slightly.<\/p>\n<p>Growth resumed in 2018-2019. In 2019, the national output reached\u00a036.093 million, a\u00a0slightly rise year-on-year. Reasonable control of the output of e-bikes\u00a0will be a new normal for future\u00a0development of the industry. The growth in number will gradually give way to qualitative improvement. While striving to explore the domestic market, many Chinese e-bike brands are actively tapping foreign markets.<\/p>\n<p>In foreign countries, e-bikes are mainly for short-distance mobility\u00a0and exercise, which can be used in large parking lots, supermarkets and tourist areas. As consumers around the world gradually deepen their understanding of e-bikes, the e-bike industry generally has a good prospect worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, the US\u2019 301 Provision and the EU\u2019s\u00a0anti-dumping policy (executing anti-dumping duties on Chinese exports of electric bicycles) have affected Chinese exports of bicycles, especially electric bicycles. Thus, many enterprises are shifting\u00a0production to Taiwan, Southeast\u00a0Asia and Europe.
