During November 19 to 22, 2020 China Conference\u00a0of Bicycle Industry (hereinafter referred to as \u201cCCBI\u201d), directed by China National Light Industry Council (\u201cCNLIC\u201d) and Organized\u00a0by China Bicycle Association, was held in Guangzhou, with the slogan of \u201cgreen mobility & smart\u00a0transportation\u201d.\u00a0The theme of this year\u2019s conference is \u201cseizing new opportunities to build a new landscape\u201d. Based on this ideological platform, China Bicycle Association gathers collective wisdom, deeply analyzes the current situation, and explores new ideas for industrial development and new paths for industrial transformation and upgrading.<\/p>\n

Zhang Chonghe, Party Secretary and President of CNLIC, Gao Yuyue, Deputy Secretary General of Guangzhou municipal government, Wu Xiaohua, Vice President of NDRC\u00a0Macro-economy\u00a0Research Institute, Liu Suwen, Chairman of China Bicycle Association and other leaders were present at the conference. He said that the bicycle industry, with its wide industrial chain, large market scale and high degree of globalization, has\u00a0shouldered the important task of the Times to build a new development pattern. Gao Yuyue, Deputy Secretary-General, spoke on behalf of Guangzhou Municipal People\u2019s government. He expressed his congratulation on the opening of the conference and thanks to all the leaders and guests who care for and support the development of Guangzhou bicycle industry. He introduced that Guangzhou is one of China\u2019s main bicycle production areas, and\u00a0also the high-end bicycle production base, with\u00a0industrial scale\u00a0in the forefront of domestic cities, and a number of well-known\u00a0brands such as Trinx and\u00a0Wuyang bicycle. Guangzhou is a city of opportunity and happiness. Guangzhou is willing to explore an innovative development\u00a0path\u00a0together with all counterparts in China\u2019s bicycle industry.<\/p>\n

To\u00a0response to the current industrial situation, Liu said: \u201cfirst, we should firmly seize the opportunities brought by the new round of technological revolution and industrial reform, increase the intensity of technological innovation, strengthen our basic abilities; second, we should actively adapt to the new trends of the changing global industrial landscape, the reshaping economic structure, and the restructuring innovation pattern, planning\u00a0new paths with new thinking, and accelerating\u00a0the establishment of the \u201cdouble circulation\u201d industrial development\u00a0model;\u00a0third, we should take a long-term perspective and continue to open up at a high level to create new advantages in international cooperation and competition;\u00a0fourth, we need to deepen integration, enhance the sense of responsibility and self-awareness of developing, supporting and serving the two-wheeler\u00a0mobility industry, and take actions to turn consensus into results.<\/p>\n

Mr. Wu Xiaohua\u00a0interpreted the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee from an economic perspective. He pointed out that the current macroeconomic situation is \u201cgenerally stable with steady growth\u201d\u00a0while difficulties, challenges and uncertainties and destabilizing factors have increased significantly. Speaking of\u00a0economic development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Wu pointed out the following trends: deepening marketization and mature\u00a0and finalized economic systems; transition to the middle and late stage of industrialization; later stage of urbanization\u00a0and more focus on human development;\u00a0full integration\u00a0of information\u20135G, AI\u00a0and digital economy.<\/p>\n

Representatives of enterprises, associations and research institutions expressed their unique views and propositions on the hot topics closely related to the bicycle industry, such as digital empowerment, integration into the \u201cdouble\u00a0circulation\u201d, \u201cgoing global\u201d, lithium battery market of electric bicycles, shared two-wheelers era\u00a03.0,\u00a0and industrial development in the post-epidemic era.<\/p>\n

The NDRC Macro-economy\u00a0Research Institute, the Planning and Research Institute\u00a0of the Ministry of Transport, the International Trade and Economic Cooperation\u00a0Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese Academy of Human Resources Science, and the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design\u00a0have\u00a0become the first five\u00a0member units\u00a0of the\u00a0\u201cChina bicycle industry expert advisory committee\u201d. Meanwhile, the China Bicycle Association issued a white paper on the Safe Use of Lithium-ion Batteries on\u00a0E-bikes to guide and promote the safe use of lithium-ion batteries on e-bikes.<\/p>\n

On November 20, a special forum was held on the theme of \u201cBuilding a New Pattern of Win-win International Cooperation\u201d and \u201cFocusing on the Restructuring of Two-wheeler Industrial Chain and Value Chain\u201d. Six international guests including CONEBI\u00a0Chairman Erhard B\u00fcchel, SPECIALIZED\u2019s executive vice president Robert, chief executive of the European Bicycle Industry Association,\u00a0the purchasing director\u00a0of Decathlon\u2019s bicycle department, the director\u00a0general\u00a0of Japan Cycling Federation, and the ISO bicycle technology committee expert\u00a0discussed via\u00a0video call\u00a0with the domestic industrial\u00a0organizations\u00a0and enterprise representatives\u00a0on\u00a0how to build an open worldwide two-wheeler industrial pattern and\u00a0how to reconstruct the industrial chain and value chain to adapt to the industrial development under new situations.<\/p>\n
